Our Story

From early childhood, we saw how our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents helped out in our local communities. For five generations, we were taught that anything is possible.
Unfortunately, factors beyond anyone’s control make it hard for some people to reach their full potential: things like when they were born, who their parents are, where they grew up, whether they are a boy or a girl.
Everyday, we use our resources to create a world where everyone has hope to build and lead a healthy and productive life. Most importantly, our belief is this: small steps make big changes that bring opportunity. It’s why we do what we do.
Our Work

We work with partners around the world to tackle big challenges and improve people’s lives.
Program Strategies
We support new ideas to address obstacles so people can live their best lives. We are focused on results. Results that can be measured. And those measured in ways beyond numbers. Some projects we support will not succeed. We understand that and anticipate it. Philanthropy means taking chances on solutions that governments and businesses simply cannot afford to take. As we discover which risks pay off, we adapt our strategies and share the outcomes for everyone’s advantage. As we say, it’s only impossible until it’s done.
Our Role

Beginnings is committed to fighting the greatest inequities in the world.
Where does Beginnings fit among other organizations trying to improve the world?
We typically hear about many organizations using their resources to help people who need them. Even with all the charitable work done in the world, there are gaps, spaces where people don’t get things they need to live healthy, productive lives.
Capacity building organizations identify these types of gaps and collaborate with other organizations to help solve them. This is how we define our organization’s role.
